GREENHOUSE SUPPLEMENTARY LIGHTING

Aaron have provided consultation and simulation studies for many of greenhouses, with the important factor of being able to combine DLI (Day Light Integral) with artificial lighting.
Using greenhouses for the growing of various crops have been with us for some time, with the benefit of being able to provide protection from adverse weather conditions and still benefit from natural light and sunlight to aid the growth of the respective crops.
However, dependent upon the Geo location of the greenhouse, the time of the year, the quality of the daylight, supplementary lighting is required to ensure the maximum yield from the crops.

VERTICAL FARMING

LED lighting can provide suitable supplementary lighting with the additional benefit of an illumination spectrum tailored to suit the crop that is being grown. ARON Light can support both users and our clients in establishing the correct level and type of illumination to maximise the crop yields. This requires a detailed simulation study which combines the average DLI based on the actual Geo location of the greenhouse and applying proposed lighting to maintain a constant DLI requirement for the crops throughout the year, regardless of seasonal light impacts. The important factor being the necessity to calculate the whole project in DLI and not only lux and/or μmol/PPFD. Included in our proposals for these kinds of projects are also a full energy analysis and a plan for the dimming throughout the year where this energy saving can be gained, without any detriment to the growth of the crops.
