VINE CROPS

LED Grow Light for Vine Crops

In high-density cultivation of tomatoes and cucumbers, there is a decrease in the amount of light reaching the middle and lower canopy layers. Specifically, the middle level receives as little as 33% of the light that falls on the top canopy, while the lower level receives even less at 18%. This reduction in light availability can result in a lower rate of photosynthesis.

To address this issue, it is recommended to incorporate inter-lighting LEDs at mid-canopy levels and implement bottom lighting. This additional lighting strategy helps provide more light to the lower canopy levels, ensuring optimal conditions for photosynthesis to occur. By increasing the light exposure in the middle and lower layers of the crop, overall plant growth and productivity can be improved.
